Optimum Mastering

Optimum Mastering is a custom designed music post-production studio in the dockside city of Bristol. Since opening in 2004, we have established a worldwide reputation for personal service and attention to detail. Our engineers have half a century's worth of experience turning good music into great records. We offer a bespoke mastering service tailored to your needs, either attended by appointment or from the comfort of your own studio. Mastering services include all major formats, including on-site vinyl master lacquer cutting.

The facility offers comprehensive audio mastering in a professionally designed and purpose built studio. Services on offer at Optimum include digital mastering, vinyl cutting, digital editing and restoration by engineers with experience at the highest level.

The room was designed by Roger D'arcy (Recording Architecture), one of the most prolific studio architects in the world, with work for Abbey Road, Lenny Kravitz and The Cure to name but a few. Roger has also designed a revolutionary ergonomic master console that is the centrepiece of this, his favourite project.

Monitoring is supplied by PMC, industry leaders in professional speaker technology, whilst the latest Sadie 6 is the choice of workstation, capable of handling hi resolution digital audio effortlessly. Analogue and digital outboard processing is by Prism Maselec & TC Electronics System 6000. Vinyl is cut on a lovingly restored Neumann VMS 70 lathe, with its origins in Nashville.
