PIETER SNAPPER - Mastering Studio Director
American-born mastering engineer Pieter Snapper has over 20 years studio engineering experience, with more than 10 years as a mastering engineer. He has mastered many thousands of tracks in every conceivable genre. Within Turkish pop, clients have ranged from icons (Ajda Pekkan, Müslüm Gürses, MFÖ) to newcomers (Murak Dalkılıç, Model), and rock projects range from driving (Demir Demirkan Bulutsuzluk Özlemi) to extreme (Melechesh). From world music (Mercan Dede, Titi Robin, Smadj) to jazz (Kerem Görsev, Alp Ersönmez) to classical (Ayla Erduran, Cumhurbaşkanlığı Senfoni Orkestrası) and beyond, Snapper has amassed a huge catalog of releases. Indie (BaBa ZuLa, Nekropsi, Replikas), experimental (Erdem Helvacıoğlu), hip-hop (Sultana) and Arabesque (Mahsun Kırmızıgül, Aydan) projects just hint at the breadth of his mastering experience. Besides traditional releases, Snapper has also mastered numerous soundtrack albums (Dondurmam Gaymak, Bir Avuç Deniz) and has done surround mastering for concert DVDs (Biriz- Sertab Erener, Demir Demirkan).On the international scene, Snapper has engineered for clients such as Peter Murphy, Stewart Copeland, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Talvin Singh, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and Erik Truffaz. Pieter is also an established classical producer, and his avant garde compositions have won numerous international awards. He has been based in Istanbul since 1999, when he came to establish the MIAM Studios.
MIRKO ETTORE D'AGOSTINO
One of the more recent additions to Babajim's expatriate crew, Mirko hails from Naples, Italy. He joined Babajim's mastering staff in 2012. Since then he's mastered music in a range of styles from acoustic folk to rock, dance, pop, and world music. His clients have included Sıla, Aslı, Ayse Önder, Zuhal Olcay, Yinon Muallem, the Williams Cardoso Band, Ayahan Öztürk, Son Feci Bisiklet, Sapan, Defans, Yok Öyle Kararlı Şeyler, Erman Pekbilimli. He studied sound engineering and composition and the Conservatory of Music "Licinio Refice" of Frosinone, from which he holds a Master's Degree. He also co-authored the music technology textbook "Laboratorio di Tecnologie Musicali - Teoria e Pratica per i Licei Musicali, le Scuole di Musica e i Conservatori - volume 1."
