Karma Sound is made up of two studios, both with outstanding sounding live rooms set around a beautiful swimming pool, private gym, bar, massage room, an outdoor live performance area and stunning tropical private gardens. The idea is not new... George Martin created Air Montserrat, in the Caribbean, back in the 70s, providing the original inspiration for Karma Sound in Thailand. But Karma Sound is different, combining the exotic nature of Thailand's cultural heritage and relaxed hospitality with state of the art facilities in a truly breathtaking location.
Studio 1 boasts 1000 sq. m of recording space, including a large live room with 3 isolation areas and a spacious vocal booth. The main room can be divided in half with huge acoustic glass sliding doors to create a separate drum room without losing any visibility between musicians. The room provides a widely varied palette of tonal characteristics with a high ceiling, a cleverly designed combination of padded, wood and stone walls within a completely asymmetrical shape. A large floor-to-ceiling window bathes the room in natural light and overlooks the pool and tropical gardens.
The spacious control room boasts a fully refurbished 'classic' SSL 4056 E/G+ desk with Total Recall, previously owned by UB40. Monitoring is provided by Genelec 1035s for the mains (tuned to the room by Genelec's very own Technical Supervisor) and a large selection of nearfield monitors including KRK, B&W, Yamaha and Auratone.
Studio 2 is a smaller writing, tracking, mixing/mastering and overdub suite with a comfortable control room and a fabulous sounding live room for vocals, guitars etc.
The studios are Pro-tools & Logic equipped and can be used stand-alone or 'in conjunction' depending on your session requirements. Both studios have access to a comprehensive microphone collection and an excellent selection of vintage and modern outboard gear.
Our team of bi-lingual Thai and international engineers and assistants is led by Head Engineer Bobo Ekrangsi. Studio operations are handled by our bi-lingual studio manager Supisa Wiliamson (Lek). Please do get in contact to discuss your requirements.
