Lake Malvik is located the small village of Runemo (with its grand population of 263) in the Gavleborg region of Northern Sweden. Built on a large forested plot, the studio's tranquil surroundings are guaranteed to make working here extremely inspiring, creating the perfect environment to get those creative juices flowing.
The large control room benefits greatly from natural light and the live room's spec boasts a huge range of guitars, effects, amplifiers and keyboards. Along with the traditional live/control recording spaces, Malvik also has the advantage of some more unusual spaces such as a converted stone walled cellar that sounds stunning on those big guitars tones, or if you need a natural echo chamber. Our "secret" booth is also a superb space for those intimate takes.
When it comes to tracking vocals, all bases are covered. From the amazing Sony C-800G to the Shure SM7B along with an assortment of condensers, dynamics and ribbons, all your wants and needs are catered for. Preamplification-wise you're covered by the classic colour of a Neve 1073 to the transparency of the ISA430 along with plenty of options inbetween.
From a programming standpoint, a wide assortment of virtual instruments and plug-ins are available as well as a full Roland V-kit. The facility can be hired monthly or weekly, and if you require an engineer we have a selection of locally based talent along with our usual UK based roster.
The studio is easily accessible by a regular bus and direct train service from Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
We can provide full catering if required and there is a fully fitted kitchen for self-catering sessions.
