This month we are pleased to announce that after a short transition period The Motor Museum recording studio in Liverpool has reopened under a newly established relationship between Miloco and producer/engineer, Al Groves.
This legendary Liverpool recording studio has become cemented in the rich musical legacy of North England, launching the careers of some hugely influential and successful British artists including Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, The Coral, The La’s, and more recently Ben Howard, Jake Bugg and Tribes.
Built within a large warehouse in the popular Lark Lane area of South Liverpool, The Motor Museum comprises a selection of excellent sounding, flexible recording spaces and a good size control room. There is a large live and stone room, hexagonal booth and an exceptional spec highlighted by features such as the vast range of terrific microphones and an amazing Protools HD2 Accel rig. There is also an impressive offering of rare and vintage microphones and backline equipment.
The Motor Museum is fully capable of catering for mix projects as well, with a vintage Neve 8232 Analogue console and stacks of great outboard gear.
One of The Motor Museum’s unique charms is its popular and inspiring atmosphere that bands love working in. The warehouse has a vast glass roof that absorbs natural light throughout the day. A large indoor terrace is lined with orange and lemon trees, and there is a relaxing rec room and kitchen area that looks out across the studio rooms. Outside, the bars, restaurants and pubs of Lark Lane are on your doorstep, and central Liverpool is a short drive away.
Some recent releases that have been recorded and/or mixed at The Motor Museum Liverpool include the forthcoming 1975 album, Jake Bugg’s number 1 debut record, The View’s ‘Cheeky For A Reason’, Blood Red Shoes’ ‘In Time To Voices’, The Black Keys’ ‘Tigthen Up’, Ben Howard’s ‘Every Kingdom’, Foals’ ‘Total Live Forever’ and many more.
