The greatest recording experience in Liverpool
Miloco represents The Motor Museum, one of the leading Liverpool recording studios. The studio is run in partnership with engineer / producer Al Groves. One of the highest profile recording studios in Liverpool, it has made a big mark on the legacy of music from the North of England, helping launch the careers of bands and artists such as Oasis, The Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg, The La's and The Coral.
The greatest recording experience in Liverpool
The Motor Museum studio comprises many different recording spaces. They include a large live recording room, a stone room and hexagonal booth. Bands can really spread out and take advantage of these fantastic sounding spaces, which are filled with great selections of guitars, guitar amps and bass amps, pedals, drums and keyboards, with plenty of excellent microphones on hand, too.
The control room is based around a beautiful vintage Neve 8232 Analogue console and lots of high-end outboard gear including Neve and API pre-amps; Thermionic Culture and Urei 1176 Silverface Dynamics; and API and Amek EQs. The Pro Tools HD2 rig is based in a machine room keeping control room noise to a minimum.
Outside the studio rooms is a unique and inspiring creative atmosphere for The Motor Museum's clients to indulge in. The building is a vast, converted warehouse with a glass ceiling and so is flooded by natural light. Orange and Lemon trees grow on the elevated balconies which look down across hut-like structures which house the studio itself. There is a large rec room at the far end of the warehouse, with comfy sofas, a television and stereo – the perfect band hangout.
This culturally important Liverpool recording studio is suitably positioned in one of the city's most popular and buzzing areas: Lark Lane near Sefton Park and the world famous Penny Lane. It is lined with cool bars and pubs, a superb range of restaurants and cafes, and is still only a short distance from the city center which is littered with attractions and great nightlife spots, notably around the Albert Dock.
Recent Clients to record and mix in The Motor Museum include The 1975, Jake Bugg, Ben Howard, Tribes, Ninet Tayeb, Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell, The Courteeners, Blood Red Shoes, The Kooks, The Black Keys, Lianne La Havas, The View, Spector, Dog Is Dead, My Morning Jacket and The Coral. It has also been a regular choice for producers and engineers including Mike Crossey, Markus Dravs, Mark Ronson, Guy Massey, John Leckie and Jamie Lewis.
