It has been one hell of a week over at The Church Recording Studios in London. This epic space, which leading UK producer Paul Epworth is reopening in 2014, is being transformed into London’s most exciting new recording studio complex in years, and last weekend we moved into the main recording room a very special piece of kit.
Introducing London’s only vintage EMI Neve console. Comprised of two halves – one which once lived in Abbey Road and recorded hits such as ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd, and the other from the famous Pathe Marconi studio in Paris – this is one hell of a desk. Under the guidance of Neve tech maestro Blake Devitt, we have spent the last seven days commissioning this stunning EMI Neve which has taken centre stage in what will be The Church’s main recording room – The Church Studios 1.
The installation of this classic vintage EMI Neve console is just one of many amazing developments taking place during the rebuild of The Church. You can keep up with all progress being made at this incredible London recording studio on churchstudios.tumblr.com.
