The MPG Awards – Tonight, Thursday 13 February

mpg awards 2014
Tonight is MPG Awards night, and we’d like to wish everyone on the shortlists the best of luck.

Special mentions go to Gotham Producers’ Matt Wiggins who has been nominated for the Breakthrough Engineer of the Year Award. Matt’s work with Paul Epworth over the last year has included credits on the latest Paul McCartney album and Adele’s James Bond single, ‘Skyfall’ which has been nominated for Single of the Year.

A shout out to Paul himself who will be hoping for repeat success at the MPGs in the UK Producer of the Year award, a shortlist which he is joined on by our partners over at Battery Studios, Flood and Alan Moulder for their masterful production on Foals’ ‘Holy Fire’. The album which was recorded in Miloco’s Assault and Battery 2 and mixed in Assault and Battery 1 has been nominated for Album of the Year, with the single ‘My Number’ up for Single of the Year. Flood and Alan have also earned a nomination of Mix Engineer of the Year, and Catherine Marks, who recorded the album is on the shortlist for both Engineer of the Year and Breakthrough Engineer of the Year. So there’s potential for huge success over in the Foals camp…

Lastly, the Everything Everything single ‘Kemosabe’ from the band’s second album, which was partly-recorded in Angelic with Mo Hausler and Tom Fuller on engineering duties, is nominated for Single of the Year.

Good luck to all the nominees at the 2014 MPG Awards. We look forward to seeing as many people there as possible.
