Studios 301 40 Hours competition winners!

With 450 entries this year, Studios 301 have announced the winners of the Studios 301 40 Hours competition, giving away 40 hours of studio time!

316 is a rapper who was born in Kenya and raised in Sydney. Renowned for his undeniable stage presence, unique punchlines and impeccable flow, he has managed to build a reputation as a true representative of Sydney’s underground hip-hop scene. 316 has recently joined hip-hop supergroup Decypher Us and is working on their next group project as well as his own solo mixtape.

Australian electronic duo Atlas Bound combine innovative production with rich, soulful vocals to create a unique jazz influenced soul sound that has gained an impressive following considering the pair have only been together for little over a year.

Someday June

Sydney-based songwriter/producer Jacob Moore has worked with a multitude of acts around the country. He’s gone solo this year, aiming to bring back some blue-eyed soul to today’s modern-day musical spectrum.

MEZKO are a synth-pop duo with strong chemistry and a reputation for making pop cool. Laura Bailey and Kat Harley combine voices, guitars, keys and machines to make memorable and elegant songs. Their two self-released singles have earned a place on FBI, RRR, RTR and Unearthed playlists and seen them invited to join lineups at some of 2015’s most exciting events including Gizzfest, Heaps Gay x Vivid and the Volumes festival.

Someday June are Melbourne indie-folk duo Bec Sykes and Troy White. The pair formed in early 2014 after discovering they had a strong musical connection. Drawing influence from genres including soul, alternative, rock and folk, Someday June cross genres to create a sound all of their own.
