Timbuktu (feat. Stormzy & Jess Kent)

Bringing together artists from different parts of the globe and different genres of the music industry, Coldplay’s Chris Martin – aka Los Unidades – created the Global Citizen EP 1, a project with a cause: to wipe out extreme poverty by 2030.

The EP combines superstars with up and coming artists, with all tracks championing a strong African influence, reflecting the project’s global pop origins and acknowledging one of the primary regions its cause supports.

UK grime superstar Stormzy came together with Australian singer/songwriter Jess Kent and South African producer/songwriter Cassper Nyovest on the the EP’s third track ‘Timbuktu’. Stormzy recorded his verse at Stephen Street’s West London studio The Bunker at 13, with Darren Jones engineering and Luke Farnell assisting.
