Heather interview from Miloco’s The Pool Recording Studio, London, October 2011.
Miloco: It’s great to have you here at Miloco. What project are you working on and how’s it all going?
Heathers: We’re working on our second album with Max Dingel. This is our first time working in a proper studio. It’s incredible. We;re having so much fun.
Miloco: You’ve been working in The Pool. What have you enjoyed about the studio?
Heathers: Firstly, the fact that up until a day ago we thought it had been an actual swimming pool. It’s a great studio, extremely comfortable. An amazing selection of instruments. The mood lighting is the cherry on the cake. Everyone is so lovely here!
Miloco: How would you describe the material you are working on?
Heathers: It’s different to what we have done before. It’s exciting and full of energy.
Miloco: Who was your studio assistant(s), and how were they?
Heathers: Joe (Rodgers) and Eduardo (De La Paz). Nicest lads in the world and make a lovely tea.
Miloco: How did you come about working with Max Dingle on this project and what do you feel he offers that other producers/engineers might not?
Heathers: We made a list of producers we wanted to work with. Max was one of our favourites. We are so happy to have the opportunity to work with him. It’s hard to compare as this is our first time working with a producer but he seems to know exactly what we want. He’s hilarious. He’s made recording this album a really enjoyable experience.
Miloco: What’s your favourite record of the last 12 months (give or take)?
Heathers:Adele – 21
Lykkie Li – Wounded Rhymes
