Congratulations to Brett Shaw over at 123 Studios in Shoreditch who has scored his first number one single by recording the vocals on Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” featuring Jess Glynn. Debuting at number one on the UK charts and a non-mover in its second week, “Rather Be” is the fastest selling UK single so far in 2014, and the fastest selling January single since Babylon Zoo’s ‘Spaceman’. Remember that one?

Co-written by Clean Bandit and Jimmy Napes of Disclosure, the track features a compelling mix of deep house and classical music samples, a ‘baroque pop’ for 2014 if you like, or just simply ‘classical-dance’.
