Aeroplane

Belgian electro act Aeroplane were mixing in The Engine Room studio in Summer 2009. They gave an artist interview to Miloco during the sessions.

Miloco: It’s great to have you here at Miloco. What project are you doing here and when’s it due to be released?
Aeroplane: We are mixing our first album here. It’s planned for release in January 2010.

Miloco: How would you describe the material you are working on?
Aeroplane: How would you describe a 60 Channel NEVE Console ? The material is HUGE

Miloco: Who was your studio assistant, and how was your studio assistant?
Aeroplane: We didn’t know him before. His name is Tom (Fuller). He was quick and positive !

Miloco: How did you come about working with Oli Wright on this project?
Aeroplane: He recorded a song with us in Musikbox, some vocals with VV Brown. He is young like us and he doesn’t follow the rules sometimes, as we do. And we like that!

Miloco: What does he bring to the project that other producers / engineers wouldn’t?
Aeroplane: He’s bringing our project to the level of sound quality you need these days. With an understanding of what we artistically need!

Aeroplane: ‘God Only Knows’ by The Beach Boys, because being such a genius drove Brian Wilson crazy!!

Miloco: What was your strangest experience of 2008?
Aeroplane: Living the dream we always had, making music.

You are placed in front of a time machine. Which year in history would you travel to and why?
Aeroplane: 2150, just to take pictures to show to the 2009 people, and make them realise how much we messed the world.
