’25’ is the long awaited third studio LP from Britain’s Queen of Pop, Adele. The album was partly recorded at The Church Studios with serial collaborator and producer, Paul Epworth.
The album was written and recorded over a two year period, during which the singer took a hiatus from the limelight. Recording in the UK and US with a variety of songwriters and producers, the album was released on the 20th of November to positive reviews.
The lead single ‘Hello’ , which was surprise released at the end of October, bumped off Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ in the top spoas the most viewed video on Vevo within 24 hours, and just days before the album’s release, the singer premiered a live video of her performing ‘When We Were Young‘ at The Church Studios.
While ’25’ may have a similar feel to ’19’ and ’21’, thematically there is a notable shift in lyrics, most likely due to the impact motherhood and a strong positive relationship have had on her life. But like her previous albums, Adele’s voice is far and wide the most impressive instrument on the record. Unparalleled in range and power, she has one of those rare and iconic voices that audiences will no doubt listen to for generations to come.
