SAMworld Dolby Atmos Studio Overview

Our Dolby Atmos™-certified studio in Lari, near Pisa in Tuscany, was designed by acoustic engineer Christian Malcurt and offers the highest standard for digital and analog audio recordings and productions.

Our Dolby Atmos ready control room measures 8×5.3m and is designed to provide highly accurate acoustics. It features a 2″ 24-track MCI JH24 with Dolby SR analog recording system and vintage tube gear as well as Pro Tools (48 in/56 out) and state-of-the-art digital equipment.

Designed by acoustic engineer Christian Malcurt of the Artistic Palace in Paris, our main hall measures 8.5×6×4.5m and boasts excellent acoustics thanks to abam and maple diffusors. It features a model B Steinway & Sons grand piano and offers a stunning view over the surrounding hills.

Our second recording room measures 5.4×3.7×2.7m and is characterized by a short reverberation time. Separated by a large viewing window, it provides a free line of sight between the session musicians in the main hall.

A great space for composing, our production room is equipped with a Soundcraft 2824 LED console and hosts a vast collection of vintage synths and drum machines from the past century (mainly 1960s to 1980s) like the Yamaha DX7, the Korg MS 20 MK1 or the Farfisa Deluxe.

Our machine room is equipped with an MCI JH-24 tape machine, a classic analog multitrack recorder from the 1980s. Thanks to dedicated wiring, the room can also be used as an amp booth.

With a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside, our lounge provides relaxation between sessions. As it is directly connected to our control room, it can also be used as a workstation or even a live room.

The local Teatro di Lari is less than a minute's walk from the studio and provides a fantastic intimate space for rehearsals. Like other neuralgic points in town, the small theatre is connected to our studio via fibre optic cable and can therefore also be used as a recording room.
