The studio is a blend of both the analogue and digital worlds, leaning heavily on the analogue side. The Ship is centred around its modified ADM 40-input console, loaded with transformers in and out, including custom placement of transformers such as Neve Marinair, UTC, MCI, JLM and Western Electric. This console also showcases its own API 500-series section, allowing the client to bring their own favourite flavour of 500-series or utilise the studio's collection. The Ship is also well-stocked in outboard gear from the likes of Shadow Hills, Universal Audio, API, Allen Smart, GML, Overstayer and many more. Effects includes a 9ft Lawson plate reverb, Echoplex and others
For tracking and mixing, the studio is equipped with a Pro Tools HD 3 rig utilising high-end converters from Lynx Aurora and Lavry, giving you 24 inputs and 32 outputs in all. And yes, the MCI 16-track 2in is working and sounds fat as hell!
The microphone collection ranges from classics to standards to the esoteric, including Coles 4038s, beyerdynamic 160s, Pearlman 47s, OktavaMod 319s, Shure 57's etc.
The Ship boasts a a wonderful collection of vintage drums from Ludwig, Gretsch, WFL and more. Clients can make use of the many guitars and amplifiers including a Fender Mustang, Gibson Les Paul, Fender Telecaster, Fender P Bass, Harmony hollow-body bass, Ampeg Gemini, Fender Twin, Ampeg SVT and others.
