HOME Studios, Hamburg – Producer Franz Plasa’s Recording Studio

It’s the second amazing European recording studio we’ve launched on the website this week… HOME is producer Franz Plasa’s world class Hamburg recording studio, and one of the leading studio facilities in the whole of Germany.

Since 1998 Franz has developed this space into the very best recording studio in Hamburg. HOME Studios has hosted sessions by all sorts of bands and artists, including: national German names such as Rammstein, Selig, Echt, Bap, Udo Lindenberg, Nena etc; international stars like Lauryn Hill, Santana, Mariah Carey, Mayer Hawthorne, Eminem and 50 Cent; and countless great new bands and artists – HOME has become an integral cog in nurturing new talent, one of Franz’s lifelong passions in music.

Located in the heart of Hamburg, HOME Studios contains two recording facilities: Studios 1 and 2.

Studio 1 is a top-end mixing studio. Its Roger Quested designed Control Room houses an 80 channel SSL 9080J Series console and a fantastic choice of outboard gear including both industry standards (Neve, Lexicon, GML, Urei, Neumann and more) plus a mouth-watering collection of treasures and rarities; get your teeth stuck into the Neumann U473, Ursa Major Space Station, AMS RMX16 and countless other studio gems. Studio 2 offers a hybrid setup for speed and flexibility, designed to provide maximum creative freedom for bands and songwriters. This is producer Franz Plasa’s main playground. It has a 24 channel SSL Duality SE desk and an exceptional DAW controller in its spacious Control Room is, which can be converted into more of a chilled living room where you can capture those inspired moments on record. Studios 1 and 2 at HOME have adjoining recording rooms with big glass windows to enhance visibility between all the different areas of the recording studio. Studio 1’s live room is big enough to cater for large recording setups with a 45m² Live Room and two booths measuring 13m² and 15m².

In addition to the HOME’s main recording studios, there are also two production suites, an relaxing lounge area and a studio reception.

Outside of the studio complex, you can be enticed into the beating heart of Hamburg – Germany’s second largest city – which is world-famous for its cultural heritage, amazing music scene and nightlife and high standards of living.
