Optimum Mastering Turns Ten!

A lot can happen in ten years. A decade ago we didn’t have the iPhone, YouTube had just been born, no one had ever heard of The Kardashians, but most importantly, Optimum Mastering was established.

The Bristol based mastering house was established in 2005 by Nick Harris and Redg Weeks, with respected engineer, Shawn Joseph. Since then Jack Adams and Tim Dennen have joined the team, bringing decades of experience in vinyl cutting, as well as the talented Rhys Crouch. Housed in an abandoned paint factory, Optimum is a beautifully designed space that offers comprehensive audio mastering, digital editing and mastering, vinyl cutting and restoration by only the most experienced engineers. It’s also the site of various workshops, led by Shawn, for students of local music colleges.

The ethos of the mastering house has always been to create and sustain a world-class listening environment that would attract clients from far and wide, drawn by the assurance of professional reference. Reputation and trust is crucial to the longevity of any music studio or mastering house, and it is no wonder that Optimum have this in spades. Over a decade of cutting grooves and tweaking frequencies for a huge range of artists from big to small, has established Optimum as a top tier mastering house that attracts clientele from all over the world.

We wish Optimum a very happy tenth birthday and are proud to have them as part of the Miloco family. With Optimum’s specialised and tailored approach to all projects commissioned, we look forward to another decade of working together.
