Summer is clearly the favourite time of year for our Birmingham partner studio Summerfield Studios, who have recently undergone a refurbishment, including the installation of a brand new console!
Summerfield refurbished the lounge and diner area for artists to be even more comfortable during sessions. But we’re most excited about the new console in the control room.
The desk is SSL 4040G series with 292 pink EQ modules. It was fully restored to a very high standard after its arrival from Studio 150 Amsterdam. It’s only ever had one previous owner since it was purchased in 1989, and has a great pop history with hit albums recorded by Paul Weller and Def Leopard, Studio 150 and Adrenalize respectively.
It’s a 40 channel frame with 40 G series channels loaded, balanced buss and left hand on board patch. In its refurbishment the desk was toothbrush cleaned, had a full recap, switched replaced and cosmetics re-done where needed – we could go on for ages!
