At the end of last year, we took delivery of a stunning Mellotron 4000D at Livingston Studios, the digital keyboard featuring 100 original Mellotron and Chamberlin sounds based on the legendary M400 model from the 1970s.
With the 4000D model the Mellotron has well and truly been brought into the digital age, and in the few short years since its introduction it’s fast become a hugely popular and sought-after piece of kit. Users include the likes of Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Noel Gallagher and Foo Fighters.
The uncompressed 24bit audio files sound incredible, and the expansive library combined with the nifty ability to blend the Mellotron and Chamberlin samples together makes this a hugely versatile instrument. Beat the two-month waiting list and come and have a play!
