I See You is the first single to be taken from The Horrors’ forthcoming album, Luminous, which is due out in May through XL Recordings and is the follow up to 2011’s award-winning Skying.
At over seven minutes long, I See You is an upbeat, dreamy Pop song with Indie sensibilities and serene synths. On its release, the single was aired on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 Show as his ‘Hottest Record of The Week’.
After the final sung chorus at around 3minutes 45, the rest of the track turns completely instrumental. Layers of guitars, synths and drums gradually build intensity, with pumping bass drums and cymbal crashes quickly picking up speed, leading to a climatic but abrupt ending.
Co-produced by Craig Silvey and The Horrors themselves, Silvey also mixed the single (and the whole album) at Miloco’s Toast Studio, whilst the album was part-recorded at Toast and the band’s own studio.
