Following on from 2011’s Skying, Luminous is the band’s fourth studio album and was described by The Horrors themselves as ‘fun and danceable’.
Many of the tracks on Luminous are considerably lengthy, creating a shoegazey, dream-like state in which synths take centre stage and influences from the golden era of British music from the 70’s to 90’s are extensive.
It’s buzzing, ethereal and psychedelic. It moves and twists in all directions, luring you in, building you up and then shifting somewhere new once again. It’s pop, but not quite.
Luminous was Mixed At Miloco’s Toast Studios by Craig Silvey who also co-produced the record.
