Black Box Recorder

A three-piece band comprised of Sarah Nixey, Auteurs henchman Luke Haines and chief Absinthe importer John Moore. Black Box Recorder formed in 1999 and released ‘England Made Me’. The band’s first single ‘Child Psychology’ was banned from UK radio.

They recorded and mixed both of their albums ‘England Made Me’ and ‘The Facts of Life’ at The Square recording studio and The Garden Studios. The material was engineered and co-produced by engineer Pete Hofmann. The single, ‘The Facts of Life’ made it into the UK top 20.
