Mr Hudson and the Library

Before Mr. Hudson began being seen regularly rubbing shoulders with Jay Z and Kanye, he had a band called Mr Hudson and the Library, whose wonderfully unique debut album, ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ hit the shelves in 2006. The Library absorbed a wide range of influences, moulding them all into a hip-hoppy/reggaey/singer-songwritery concoction, simply branded by the band as folk-hop.

Throughout the summer of 2006, Mr Hudson and the Library were recording in The Toyshop, Musikbox and The Pool. Dave McCraken produced the Pool sessions, and Matt Foster and Ferg Peterkin shared engineering duties across all sessions. The band and Dave used The Engine Room to mix tracks.
