English rock four-piece Lower Than Atlantis are back with their fifth studio album Safe In Sound, the first since their 2014 self-titled album release.
The band made good use of our huge south London tracking studio The Pool, located in our Orinoco Studio Complex, to track all the drums for the album over three separate weekends in late 2015.
The band attended the sessions along with Safe In Sound‘s producer Daniel Lancaster, where they recorded with Miloco engineer Darren Jones, and The Pool’s in-house assistant Jamie McEvoy.
As well as recording drummer Eddy Thrower’s parts to ore-prepared mix stems, the production team also recorded group vocal overdubs and stomps on their final day.
Telling us about the recording, Darren says, “They originally booked in to track a few songs but liked the sound so much they decided to do the whole album in The Pool with me on engineering duties. Mike (Duce, the band’s lead singer) told me it was one of the best drum sounds he’s ever heard!”
The album is out today on Easy Life Records, and precedes a a seven-date UK tour to take place next month.
