Infamous UK rocker ,and former Oasis band member, Noel Gallagher is back with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds for their third studio album, Who Built The Moon?
We had the pleasure of working with Noel and his band early last year when they recorded some of the album’s material in The Pool in our SE1 studio complex, Orinoco Studios.
Producer David Holmes and engineer Emre Ramazanoglu joined the High Flying Birds alongside The Pool’s in-house assistant Jamie McEvoy to work on the album’s lead single ‘Holy Mountain’, as well as ‘Keep on Reaching’, ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’, ‘The Man Who Built the Moon’.
Over the course of ten days the team recorded guitars, bass and drums for ‘Holy Mountain’, as well as additional drums, percussion and horns. Together they also tracked various guitars, bass, keys, reamping and programming. During the sessions they also lay down the vocal for ‘The Man Who Built The World’ and recorded the stirring gospel choir vocals featured on ‘Keep On Reaching’.
The album has already received positive reviews, with NME calling it “Noely G’s best work since (What’s The Story) Morning Glory“, which was mixed and mastered with us at Miloco Studios back in 1995.
