Battery Studios Complex

Map View

The famous Battery Studios complex in Willesden, North West London, is home to mix room Battery Studio 1, and tracking studio Battery Studio 2. Devised by leading industry producers Alan Moulder and Flood, and run as a joint venture with Miloco, the combination of these two studios make it the perfect complex to record and mix a project from start to finish.

Battery Studio 1 is an intimate mix room with an exceptional spec, including a 72 Channel SSL G+ SL4000 console, and also features a large overdub booth for recording vocals and guitars. This studio is the perfect environment to mix, edit or chill out in.

Battery Studio 2 is one of London's classic recording studios, with an expansive live room that features two isolation booths, high ceilings and natural daylight, and can accommodate every size project from bands to orchestras. Its control room features a high-end spec and is centred around a Neve VR60 console, making this studio unrivalled in size, quality and technology.

History: The Battery Studios Complex in Willesden Green began its life as a four-studio complex called Morgan Studios, or Morgan Sound Studios, owned by Barry Morgan. It was a very important studio in the 1960s and 70s, recording artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Paul McCartney, Black Sabbath and The Cure. In 1975 Morgan Studios was sold to global music company Zomba Group, a Sony Music entity, becoming Battery Studios. During this time legendary albums by Iron Maiden, Billy Ocean, and The Stone Roses were all produced at here. After changing hands a few times in the early noughties, producers Alan Moulder & Flood took over Studio 4 in 2005, and Studio 3 in 2008, turning them into Assault and Battery Studio 1 and 2, respectively. In early 2021, Miloco entered a joint partnership with Flood and Moulder to manage the studios going forward, renaming them once again to Battery Studios to better reflect the complex's extensive heritage.
