Overview

The Albion Rooms is a residential recording studio, licensed bar, kitchen and guest house all set in a stunning Victorian townhouse in the seaside town of Margate. Originally set up by The Libertines, the building overlooks the historic Oval Bandstand and Gardens in the Cliftonville area of the town. A classic 'seaside' town on the glorious Kent coast, Margate has rich artistic roots and bohemian spirit – the ideal backdrop for making music.

The studio comprises a control room, large live room and booth. Centred around an SSL AWS 928 console and ATC monitoring, the studio spec is incredible. Designed by Studio People, the studio has been completed to a really high finish throughout.

The live room is easily big enough to host full band setups, and even smaller string ensembles. It also benefits from access to a huge amount of instruments and backline, all courtesy of The Libertines.

Lastly there is a booth which is big enough for a drum setup, or it makes for perfect isolation for guitar and bass amps, or a vocalist.

Being a fully licensed bar and restaurant, the hospitality at The Albion Rooms is second to none. The General Manager will be on-site to meet and greet studio users, handle any food or drinks orders and/or facilitate your residential stay, if applicable. Complimentary drinks-making facilities will be available for you to use in the rec room area, and the studio can even offer bed and breakfast facilities to you during your hire period. The guest rooms have just been refurbished too, making The Albion Rooms the perfect getaway for recording sessions
