The studio comprises of a 15 square-meter control room with an adjacent 13 square-meter shared live room (shared with one other producer - please check for availability). A large glass window to the right of the control room provides line of sight through to the live room. Both rooms are acoustically tuned and are fully air-conditioned.
Built originally as a writing/production room, the space is designed to be be relaxed and comfortable to work in over long periods of time.
Natural daylight is provided by two large windows to the left of the room, looking out over the city. There is also an abundance of ambient lighting to help create a vibey and laid-back atmosphere into the evening.
The studio is based around an Audient Zen console coupled to a Pro Tools HD Native system, allowing for a versatile hybrid setup - bringing all the benefits of a powerful in-the-box setup, but with the headroom and flexibility that the the desk/patchbay bring.
With the adjoining live room, decent collection of outboard equipment and microphones and great monitoring (thanks to the Focal Twins), this room also doubles as a small, but effective recording/mix space.
There is also a good collection of quality instruments, vintage amplifiers and other quirky bits of gear, so it is easy to get great results quickly. The shared lounge comes fully equipped with TV, PS3, HIFI, kitchen and larger corner sofa with shower/wc facilities at the end of the hall.
Downstairs, Vinyl Deli provides a relaxing and airy space to enjoy lunch or the odd coffee break, and is fully licensed to serve alcohol (there is a cocktail night every Thursday evening!).
In the event that any equipment needs to be hired in, John Henry's is conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the studio.
