A creative vibe from the moment you enter.
The studio has three key rooms, two booths, an edit suite, plus ample facilities to make your session a comfortable and inspiring experience. With a range of inspirational modern and vintage equipment, Westpoint is suitable for early writing stages through to production, recording, and mixing.
Control Room:
Centred around an SSL console, Westpoint's control room can accommodate two engineers, a producer's table, and has an artists' interactive table, allowing people to interact for greater collaboration. The great variety monitoring options can be controlled from the producer's table with great ease. Further interrelation can be accessed from the live room allowing musicians to directly control Pro Tools; great for spontaneous punch-ins!
For traditional mixing sessions, there are: rack equipment, classic FX processors and tons of plugins. The studio's patching system also boasts patchable MIDI, video sync, ethernet, cues, and loudspeaker for you to create and control a variety of recording situations. The vocal booth is a mere few feet from the producer's table and Yamaha clavinova, conducive to close collaboration between artist and producer.
Live Room:
Westpoint's 28-foot live room is stacked with guitar amps, drum kits, and contains soft seating, a smart TV, and air conditioning. The live room's Quested v3110 mid-field monitors allow artists to listen to previous takes and serves a novel option for a second control room. With natural finished wooden floors and high ceilings, the live room provides an ambient recording space for live bands, strings, brass, drums, vocals, and piano.
Vocal Booth:
Westpoint's vocal booth boasts the best interactive space for producer and vocalist to work together. Various patching options - including the ability to change polar patterns during a take - gives you unrivalled speed while still being able to achieve the very best results. There is a variety of lighting and comfortable seating.
Guitar Booth:
Our dedicated 4.5 metre-cubed guitar booth is accessed from the live room and is flexible enough to play from any room in the facility. Should you want to do overdubs from the control room or record alongside other musicians in the live room with complete separation, the guitar booth will cover you.
The Strip:
Between the control room and live room is a 14-foot strip with a 5m² view of the live room and control room for musicians requiring separation with a good line of sight, or a secondary guitar booth with ample patching options.
Location:
Shepherds Bush and the A40 are a five minute drive from Westpoint Studios. Additionally, four local train stations and plenty of bus stops are within a mile of Westpoint. The loading bay is within a few metres of the live room, making for easy access and fast set-ups. Westpoint has the option of either gated private parking or regular parking outside—free of charge.
With the exceptional combination of Westpoint's technical attributes, its stunning interior design, custom built furniture, and Recording Architecture's position acoustics, you will find all you need and more to achieve the best results.
