Black Coffee goes Platinum!

Artist and DJ, Black Coffee, who celebrates his ten year anniversary in the music industry this year, has just had his new album, Pieces Of Me, go platinum in his native South Africa just six weeks after its release! Born Nkosthi Maphumulo, Black Coffee released his self-titled debut album in 2005, with Pieces Of Me being his sixth studio release. We are so pleased with the success of this album, which feels like a Miloco family group project of sorts, having being mixed by Philippe Weiss at The Red Room in Paris and mastered by Optimum Mastering in Bristol. Optimum also celebrated its ten year anniversary recently, so congratulations and celebrations are well-deserved all round!

No stranger to achieving mean feats, Black Coffee made history in 2010 when he set the record for the longest hours a DJ has spent continuously on the desk at a whopping 60 hours. His next hurdle? Planning to become the first South African artist to fill the 94,000 seat First National Bank Stadium in Johannesburg next year.

Congratulations to Black Coffee, Philippe Weiss and The Optimum Mastering team for their work on a brilliant record that is being so widely recognised.
