Bloc Party

Bloc Party were at first in and out of The Square in 2004 and early 2005, when they recorded part of the debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ with producer Paul Epworth and engineer Elliot James. In late 2006 they returned with Elliot to record and mix b-sides at the Garden studios, and work on their second LP A Weekend In The City with Garrett Lee.

In 2008, the band of course were reunited with Paul – who this time was working alongside engineer Mark Rankin – to track half of their third LP, the acclaimed Intimacy, which became one of the biggest sellers of the year. The sessions took place in The Pool throughout that summer. The studio was also the setting for Channel 4’s Live and Intimate documentary on the band.

January of 2016 saw the band release their fifth studio album, HYMNS, their first album in four years and the debut of new band members, bassist Justin Harris and drummer Louise Bartle. HYMNS was written in The Bridge with Miloco engineer Ben Jackson.
