Attica Audio Recording is a rural residential recording studio located in the rolling hills of north-west Co.Donegal, Ireland. The current studio opened in 2012 & was built & designed from the ground up to be an exceptional acoustic space creating a unique and fully-featured recording environment. This 3000 sq.ft facility is home to a beautiful recording studio together with our client lounge, office and equipment stores. A separate 1500 sq.ft building is home to our onsite artists residence & a Studio B mix room.
Attica is owned and operated by Villagers guitarist Tommy McLaughlin. The control room is centered around a beautiful 1978 Harrison 3232b Console together with monitoring provided by ATC SCM25A & NS10's. Recording is to a Pro Tools HD Native system running on the latest Mac Pro computer with Antelope Audio converters with mic pre's & outboard by API, UA, Tube-Tech, Crane Song and many more.
Attica is home to two recording rooms. Parkhead, the main live area, is 1400 sq.ft and has some of the best natural light you will ever see in a recording studio. Lisbon, the second live area, is a 220 sq.ft booth with a very dead & controlled acoustic character even at very low frequencies. All of the live areas have wooden floors, 17ft ceilings & excellent sight lines.
