Attica Audio Recording was opened in 2012 to provide unique and fully-featured recording at an affordable price in Co. Donegal, Ireland. The studio has been designed from the ground up to be an exceptional acoustic space. The 3000 sq ft facility is home to a beautiful recording studio together with client lounge, offices and equipment stores.
Attica is owned and operated by Villagers guitarist Tommy McLaughlin. The control room is centered around a beautiful 1978 Harrison 3232b Console together with monitoring provided by ATC SCM25A & NS10's. Recording is to a Pro Tools HD Native system running on the latest Mac Pro computer with AVID, Lynx & Burl AD/DA converters with mic pre's & outboard by API, UA, Tube-Tech, Crane Song and many more.
Attica is home to two recording rooms. Parkhead, the main live area, is 1400 sq.ft and has some of the best natural light you will ever see in a recording studio. Lisbon, the second live area, is a 220 sq.ft booth with a very dead & controlled acoustic character even at very low frequencies. All of the live areas have wooden floors, 17ft ceilings & excellent sight lines.
