Optimum Mastering Studio Introduction

Optimum Mastering, established in 2004, is a state-of-the-art, mastering suite, located in the heart of the dockside city of Bristol. For a city with such rich musical heritage, Optimum has been a long overdue addition to the industrious music scene that has made its mark in recent years. Excellent rail and road links makes Optimum a fresh alternative to the traditional, bustling London based circuit.

The facility offers comprehensive audio mastering in a professionally designed and purpose built studio. Services on offer at Optimum include digital mastering, vinyl cutting, digital editing and restoration by engineers with experience at the highest level.

The room was designed by Roger D'arcy (Recording Architecture), one of the most prolific studio architects in the world, with work for Abbey Road, Lenny Kravitz and The Cure to name but a few. Roger has also designed a revolutionary ergonomic master console that is the centrepiece of this, his favourite project.

Monitoring is supplied by PMC, industry leaders in professional speaker technology, whilst the latest Sadie 6 is the choice of workstation, capable of handling hi resolution digital audio effortlessly. Analogue and digital outboard processing is by Prism Maselec & TC Electronics System 6000. Vinyl is cut on a lovingly restored Neumann VMS 70 lathe, with its origins in Nashville.

Optimum Mastering has just celebrated its ten year anniversary, marking a decade's worth of cutting grooves and tweaking frequencies for a huge range of artists and projects. As a top-tier and full service mastering house, Optimum has developed an impeccable reputation that attracts clientele from all over the world.
