Overview

The Schweiger Studios are a professional recording and mixing studio. It focuses on working in analog audio surroundings. The studio offers a 53sqm live room and two isolation booths. The live room is equipped with a 1968 Steinway & Sons Model D grand piano, which has been a concert piano at the Berlin Philharmonic concert hall before moving to Berlin Tegel. For monitoring during recording sessions all recording rooms are connected to a Hear Back Pro monitoring system.

The control room is the heart of the facility. The Schweiger Studios are happy to be the owner of a completely analog surround mixing console (64Ch) designed by Paul Wolff. It is the very first console of his new brand FIX Audio Designs. The console is based on the API 500 series and offers two 500 slots on each channel. It makes the console more flexible than maybe every other on the market today. In the "equipment" section you will find detailed information about the current setup, but only two screws per modul keep someone from changing it all up again. A Slate Raven mti-2 touch control surface, gives the perfect connection to the digital audio world and turns the all-analog console into an amazing tool for hybrid workflow.
The studio uses Merging Technologies Horus interfaces for AD and DA conversion. They are connected via "Audio over IP" with the DAW, which currently is Nuendo 7. For monitoring there are three Amphion Two18 speakers (L/C/R) and two Amphion One18 speakers (SL/SR). Two Amphion BaseOne25 bass extensions are added to the L and R Two18s.
All rooms can be operated from the office, which then turns into control room 2, with digital processing and also guarenteed high end quality. With this solution it is possible to run a recording and have an independent mixing session at the same time.

Besides a few exceptions, the Schweiger Studios use microphones by Microtech Gefell and AEA. Feel free to check out the "Equipment" section or contact for more information about technical features of the facility.

Since making professional audio productions can be a stresful occasion, the Schweiger Studios offer a very spacey and comfortable lounge area. A bar always filled with drinks - of course without extra charge for the customer - free wi-fi, comfy furniture and a Play Station make it easy to take your mind off in between sessions.

The founder and the owner of the Schweiger Studios is Gregor Schweiger. He has been working as a sound engineer since finishing media school with a Bachelor degree in 2010. After five years of freelancing he decided to fulfill his dream of owning a recording studio.
