Writing Retreats

Miloco is able to carry out writing retreats at a number of studios in the UK and abroad.

Angelic Studio, hidden away in the heart of the UK, was opened as a new residential in 2009 to provide artists with a completely exclusive and idyllic setting to record in. Based in two beautiful farm buildings, it has been converted and refurbished to perfection.

Devon Analogue is a superb self-contained residential studio located in the beautiful Devon countryside. It has all the toys, instruments and outboard you need for a creative and productive session surrounded by beautiful countryside, and has two bedrooms and a well-appointed kitchen and bathrom.

Maltbarn Studios is a fantastic writing studio hidden away in the Welsh countryside away from distractions. The main two bedroomed house comes with a neve based studio with stacks of backline - hammond, wurlitzer, rhodes, synths guitars and amps etc. This is the perfect place to write a record. For the more budget conscious the studio also comes with an adjacent cottage which can be rented out and equipment provided to set up an adhoc writing setup.

Black Rock Songwriter camp, located on the magnificent Greek island of Santorini, is one of the premier writing retreats in the world. Founded by Leonidas Chantzaras and Black Rock studio owner Kostas Kalimeris in 2011, Black Rock Songwriter camp has had writers from the USA, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Korea attending, with several cuts around the world.

La Fabrique is a charming property built during the 19th century, located in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the French Riviera. Artists will appreciate 12 rooms in the calm and luxurious environment of the property, with a park, donkeys and a swimming pool.

Osea Island in the UK has custom-built high-spec writing studio The Summerhouse, however there are a number of other small buildings scattered around the island that can be used for writing projects. Also, if you are a large publishing company looking to organise a writing camp then there is no location more perfect than Osea. It is capable of sleeping more than 100 people, so can cater for all group sizes. More information here.
