The MBW A&R Awards

In November Music Business Worldwide (MBW) are hosting their prestigious A&R Awards at London’s Abbey Road Studios. The UK-focused awards are made up of a talented mix of independent and major professionals across labels, management and publishing. The awards, which are divided into three category groups, will be judged on a combination of commercial, critical and creative achievement.

We are so pleased that various artists, producers and musicians who have worked with or in Miloco Studios over the past year have been recognised for their musical achievements with a nomination.

Lapsley – The Breaking Artist Award
Lapsley completed her debut album Long Way Home in Livingston 1

Michael Kiwanuka – The Breakthrough Artist Award
Michael’s Love & Hate was part written or recorded in Livingston 1 and the (now closed) The Square, including the hugely successful single ‘Black Man In A White World’

Tom Odell – The Breakthrough Artist Award
Tom’s second studio album, Wrong Crowd, was part recorded in Miloco’s The Pool and Assault & Battery 2 studios

Two of the nominees in the Producer Of The Year category are Miloco partners Mike Crossey and Paul Epworth. Mike is Miloco’s partner in the Livingston Studios Complex, and is the man behind albums from The 1975, Wolf Alice, Jake Bugg and many more. Paul Epworth owns the world-renowned The Church Studios, which are managed by Miloco, and has produced the likes of Florence + The Machine, Adele, U2 and FKA Twigs.

These names are in addition to the many A&Rs, management companies and record labels that we have the pleasure of working with every day. We wish them all the best of luck!
