The Latchis Theatre and Latchis Hotel are part of the historic Latchis Memorial Building, built in 1938 as "A Town within a Town - Under One Roof," and listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. Movie theater and live events.
The Vermont Jazz Center is an internationally recognized institution that provides jazz education, programming and outreach. Started in the 1970's by Atilla Zoller and currently run by pianist Eugene Uman, VJC features sweet concerts, a renowned summer prgram, and a weekly jam session and is a valuable community resourse.
The Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, a non-collecting museum, was founded in 1972 and is located in the former Union Station in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. New exhibits by regional and international artists are shown each season
The Guilford Country Store is the closest store to Guilford Sound, and, luckily, makes amazing homemade food. The store has just about anything you might have forgotten at home. We were all so grateful when they opened and eat here all the time!
Italian-American food and a nice wine selection. Chef Ken Flutie says it best himself: "with Italian I learned to love pure, simple flavors; exquisite fresh pastas and homey braises, an appreciation of traditional technique, deeply flavored sauces and classics. New England, especially Vermont, keeps me grounded and my food honest."
