To Visit

Alexandra Palace

Alexandra Palace Way, London N22 7AY 020 8365 2121 Website

One of London's famous Victorian palaces, Ally Pally sits atop a hill immediately North West of Wood Green and boasts one of the very best views of the city. All sorts of activities go on here: live gigs by leading names, professional sporting events such as the Masters Snooker and World Darts Championships, an ice rink, pitch and putt golf and various exhibitions. Alexandra Park, which sits infront of the palace, is a popular spot for walking and picnics.

The Mall - Wood Green

The Mall Wood Green, 159 High Road, Wood Green, London N22 6YQ 020 8888 6667 Website

The Mall is a large shopping centre almost directly opposite Livingston. You'll find the majority of UK high street retailers, a selection of eateries and a multi-screen cinema complex.

Les Aldrich Music Shop

98 Fortis Green Road, Muswell Hill, London N10 3HN 02088835631 Website

Sheet music, woodwind and string spares and repairs.

To Eat & Drink

The Great Northern Railway Tavern

67 High Street, Hornsey, London N8 7QB 020 8127 6632 Website

Built in 1897, The Great Northern Railway Tavern is a Grade II listed pub that has been beautifully refurbished to enhance its original features. The food and beer menus are very popular, and they put on quiz nights, live bands and acoustic gigs regularly.

The Salisbury

1 Grand Parade, Green Lanes, London N4 1JX 020 8800 9617

Although slightly further afield in Harringay, The Salisbury may still be worth a visit especially for avid real ale drinkers - they have a fantastic choice of cask, keg and bottled beers. The food menu is of the pizza / burger ilk.
