The recording studio at Old Carpet Factory is designed around a calibrated hybrid system of analogue and vintage gear, combined with classic and modern outboard, digital technology, plug-ins and the software needed for a smooth, efficient workflow.
At its centre is a custom-built Neve BCM 10/2 24-channel analogue recording and mixing console, complemented by an exceptional collection of rare and cult equipment. Highlights include a vintage EMT 140 Quad Reverb Plate, Studer A80 and A800 tape machines, a Moog One 16-voice analogue synthesizer, Mellotron, Fender Rhodes Mark I, Hammond organ with Leslie speaker, and a 1924 Steinway upright concert piano.
The studio's instrument and microphone collection is equally distinctive, featuring vintage Telefunken U47 and U67 microphones, a Neumann U87, Brauner VM1, Soyuz 017, classic guitars including a Gibson Firebird and Rickenbacker 360/12, plus a vintage 1970 Ludwig Black Panther Hollywood drum kit. Legendary outboard such as the Teletronix LA-2A and Universal Audio 1176 Rev. A complete a setup built for productions seeking genuine analogue depth and character.
Whether you are tracking, producing, writing or mixing, the studio offers an inspiring alternative to the conventional control-room environment. In-house engineers are available for round-the-clock support, or as set-up consultants for productions bringing their own technical team.
The space reflects its founder's deep passion for music: Stephan Colloredo-Mansfeld is a producer and prolific collector of psychedelic vinyl and rare musical instruments, and transformed part of his family's historic Hydra mansion into a recording and production studio. The result is a studio with genuine character – intimate, atmospheric and rich in analogue texture.
