Osea is a tidal island accessible by a 1-mile causeway for four hours every twelve hours. When the tide comes in the causeway is underwater and therefore not usable. It is therefore imperative that drivers are aware of tide times before attepting to drive onto Osea. The tide times change every day although we do have advance knowledge of these times. You can access the island by water taxi and helicopter as well as by car.
By Car
If you decide to drive to Osea then let us know and we shall send you driving directions and important information on tide times. We advise drivers not to enter Osea's postcode into a sat nav as you could be sent to the wrong end of the island where there is no tidal causeway. The island's car park is within walking distance to the accommodation.
By Water Taxi
Once the tide is in you will have to catch a water taxi from the mainland. The taxi takes up to six. It is an eight minute crossing from the mainland. Get in touch for information on pricing.
By Helicopter
For the more exclusive entrance, why not catch a 20-minute helicopter from Battersea Heliport, south west London? Call for more information.
By Train / Taxi
The nearest station is Witham Station which is around 45 minutes from London Liverpool Street. You can then catch a taxi from the rank directly outside the station for a 10-15 minute ride baring in mind the tide times. Not all the taxi firms will drive onto Osea but we can provide you with a list that do.
