Pinkmoon Studios

Pink Moon is an analogue-led recording environment built around performance, interaction and commitment to sound. The studio is especially well suited to tracking bands and groups of musicians playing together, whether you are beginning a record from scratch, developing songs in residence or looking for a distinctive space to capture live takes.

The control room

The control room is centred around an RFT MP4084 console, originally built for Deutsche Rundfunk during the East German era of circuit design. Previously installed at Funkhaus Berlin, the desk is a rare and distinctive centrepiece for recording and mixing, combining historical character with a practical, recording-first workflow.

The console is fitted with FB80 channel EQs, an EB80 master EQ and two pairs of RV80 limiters. A focused selection of outboard compression and EQ is connected through the patchbay, allowing engineers and artists to shape sounds on the way into the recording - making confident creative decisions early and building a record with intention from the source.

At the far end of the room, Klein + Hummel monitors provide a listening environment designed to keep attention on the music itself. The monitoring setup removes unnecessary visual distraction, helping artists and engineers focus closely on balance, tone, space and performance.

The live room

The main live room is a spacious, versatile recording environment with a six-metre ceiling. Its height allows low frequencies to develop naturally, while the room's uneven stone surfaces scatter reflections and contribute to its distinctive acoustic character.

Comfortably accommodating medium-sized groups, the live room is ideal for recording drums, full-band performances, acoustic instruments, strings, vocals and ensemble sessions. Moveable acoustic screens, designed to Abbey Road specifications, make it possible to manage spill and create separation when required - without losing the liveliness of musicians responding to one another in the room.

A large sliding glass door opens the room visually onto the surrounding landscape, with uninterrupted views across the Pyrenees, the Mediterranean and the nearby Cathar castle ruins. It is a recording space that feels connected to its setting: expansive, focused and full of character.

The mezzanine

Accessed between the live room and control room, the mezzanine provides an additional acoustic environment within the studio. It can be used for players who need separation from the main live room, as a position for room microphones or guitar amplifiers, and for capturing alternative textures during a session.

The mezzanine is also regularly used for drum recording, smaller percussion setups and vocal takes. Together with the live room and control room, it gives projects several sonic perspectives within one connected recording space.
