Studio 1 Overview

STUDIO 1

This is a studio which has lived and breathed music for decades. The large recording room with its unique and variable acoustics has a floor area of 180m² and a ceiling height of 7m. It is capable of accommodating up to 60 musicians, orchestras, big bands or choirs. It’s also the ideal room for recording everything from ensembles to tight and punchy drum tracks which benefit from a degree of natural ambience.

The legendary sound of our 1920s Steinway & Sons D-274 concert grand piano has featured on many famous recordings including those of Keith Jarrett, Richie Beirach, John Taylor, Django Bates, Joachim Kühn, Michael Wollny and many more.

Our large selection of the best state-of-the-art studio microphones plus an array of well-preserved and maintained vintage microphones allows us to select the perfect one to ensure that we capture every detail of your sound in the highest fidelity.

CONTROL ROOM 1

With an area of 55m² control room 1 is fully equipped for surround sound productions. The centrepiece is of course our wonderful analogue AMS Neve VXS 60/60 mixing console. We offer both ProTools and Pyramix digital audio workstation systems which support high-resolution 96kHz sampling. They can be augmented by an extensive range of outboard equipment such as the Lexicon 960 reverb system and dynamics processors from Tubetec, Urei and Jünger.
