The Main Floor studios include three control rooms and three sound rooms, interlinked via audio and video to allow for complete flexibility with recording, editing and mixing. The sleek architectural design and contemporary original art throughout make it a bright and engaging place to work.
Back down the stairs and to the left of Dubway's entrance is our Red Room. The Red Room is home to one of our Yamaha C3 grand pianos, which sits in its own treated sound room. Our Red Room operates on a 192 interface with 16 channels and Pro Tools HD 10. The room also features Genelec 1029 speakers, Yamaha NS10 speakers, Dangerous controller, Hearback box, Avalon pre-amp, and Presonas pre-amp which has eight channels. Red Room is firewire enabled and has a functional HD video network to make communication seamless while recording.
After walking past the Red Room and through the lobby, another left turn will put you in the Blue Room. The sunniest of our control rooms, it has a great view from the 22nd floor and a comfortable sofa. Similar to what Red Room offers, the Blue Room functions on a 192 interface with 16 channels and Pro Tools HD 10. The room also features Legacy speakers, Dangerous controller, Hearback box, and Avalon pre-amp. Blue Room is firewire enabled, has a functional HD video network, and 5.1 surround sound capabilities. Directly across the hall from the Blue Room are two sound rooms. Sound Room One is a small iso-booth designed specifically for one vocalist or V/O artist. Sound Room Two is considerably larger, big enough for a full drum kit. Both are super isolated rooms with television monitors and a functional HD video network.
Further down the other side of the hall is our Sand Room. The Sand Room also operates on a 192 interface with 16 channels and Pro Tools 10. The room is also home to Genelec 1030 speakers, Dangerous controller, Hearback box, and Avalon pre-amp. Sand Room is firewire enabled and has a functional HD video network.
Even further down the hall is our tape transfer room. Dubway has been charged with restoring, digitising, and archiving many older sources of audio, from analog reel to reel tapes from the '50's and '60's, 2" multi-track tapes from the '70's, 80's, and 90's, and vinyl records. We can transfer your recordings from almost any media: vinyl, cassette, 2" 24 track, 1/2" 8 track or 2 track, 1/4" 4 track or 2 track, DAT, DA88, 16 or 20 bit ADAT, CD, all digital file formats (wav, SDII, MP3, aiff), Logic Audio, or ProTools.
