Verdant Sound

Verdant Sound is a private recording studio and creative residence on a lake in the Catskills. Recently, it was six acres of virgin land. It was designed and built it from the ground up around a simple idea: give artists the time, space, sound, and setting to follow an idea wherever it wants to go.

The whole property is live, inside and out. The forty-foot live room, SSL control room, listening lounge, theater, rooms, grounds, and lake are wired as one continuous studio, stretching the idea of a recording space across a uniquely large footprint. A take can begin in one room, move upstairs, end up by the water, and still find its way back to the control room without losing its thread.

Verdant Sound is where vintage analog and modern digital run side by side; where architecture, landscape, performance, capture, and AI begin to operate as one creative system. A place to make things, and a living experiment in what happens when physical space meets intelligence and creativity.
