Exciting Long-term Let Development Opportunity in Wood Green, North London

Posted on July 2, 2014 by ether

wood green long-term let recording studio

This summer we have a really exciting long-term let studio development opportunity becoming available at Livingston Studios in Wood Green. The complex has a large first floor area, currently used as storage, which we are looking to develop into a long-term let facility that will have a number of different room combinations and layouts. The new studio facilities will benefit from natural light and high ceilings. If you are a label, production company or other entity looking for your own private studio facility then this might be the perfect chance for you to claim one!

To build the rooms we are looking for an 18 month rent down payment from prospective tenants. In return your will get the rooms built to your own specification and secure a long tenure on the space.

To find out more visit the official Wood Green long-term let page, and contact nick@miloco.co.uk to make further enquiries.

View the floor plans below to get a feeling of what can be built upstairs at Livingston The total floor space will be approximately 72 m sq with approximately 58 m sq os usable space after sound proofing.

Miloco Builds Complete New Studio for Above and Beyond

Posted on June 23, 2014 by ether

above and beyond studio london

The Miloco Builds team have completed yet another brilliant new studio, this time for Anjunabeats act, Above and Beyond. The band approached the team last year with an idea for a new build close to the Anjunabeats/Anjunadeep label in Bermondsey, which they also own.

The studio design and acoustic treatment was worked on with leading acoustic expert Nick Whitaker. Miloco Builds constructed the space, where achieving excellent sound reinforcement was essential due to nearby neighbours. The work included floating a new concrete floor across the entire basement, and carefully decoupling each area so that the main control room could work independently from the vocal booth / Studio 2 from where the band broadcast their radio show. The results speak for themselves.

“What can I say…Pete and the Miloco Builds Team brilliantly balanced the band’s unswerving demand for audio excellence with an innovative interior design brief from Lee Associates. It looks amazing – cheers guys.” – Steve Heaver, Involved Management

New Equipment Upgrades at Retreat Recording Studios, Brighton

Posted on June 17, 2014 by ether

retreat recording studios equipment

Our spotlight on new equipment shifts back to the south coast of England this week, where the Retreat Recording Studios just outside of Brighton has been busy with the following purchases and installations…

1) The guys at Retreat have installed four EMI REDD series style vintage valve pre amplifier: two of which are much like the V72s included in the early REDD mixing desks; the other two are like the REDD.47 modules which EMI engineers subsequently built themselves.

2) They have installed a Heritage Audio 1073 DMP, a high quality clone of the original 1073 modules (with 3 input stages) in a stereo module (2 channels).

3) Next up is the inclusion of an oak desk resulting in more rack space to be able to house new equipment and generally make the control room more ergonomic and space-efficient.

4) Lastly, The Retreat now features Mitsubishi inverter air-conditioning in the control room and second live room, which is super quiet. Just in time for those summer sessions by the sea…
