Will Young’s new album coincides with the tenth anniversary of his debut on Pop Idol. A decade and 8 million album sales later he has completed the shift away from the days of ‘Evergreen’, to a sophisticated electronic sound thanks to the production efforts of Richard X.
Richard X and engineer Pete Hofmann recorded and mixed Echoes at Miloco Studios in the first half of 2011.

The 2011 Rhode Island International Film Festival took place earlier this month, with the Rob Sorrenti-directed ‘Hollow’ making a big impact. The film’s soundtrack, composed by Christopher Slaski, won the award for Best Original Score, and we are proud to announce that Miloco engineer Adrian Breakspear recorded and mixed the works!
‘Hollow’ also picked up the accolades for ‘Best Film’ and ‘Filmmaker of the Future’. We’d like to congratulate Adrian and all involved in the making of ‘Hollow’ on its recent success.

Baxter’s back with his third album, and the first for six years. Described by Dury himself as ‘seaside psychedelia’, Happy Soup makes for a great summer album, with tales of holidays in the sun against a backdrop of laid back, sleepy tracks.
Happy Soup was produced and mixed by Craig Silvey in The Garden.

Famous First Words was recorded and mixed at Angelic Studios. Overdubs were recorded in The Bunker.

This August we’re pleased to announce that we have teamed up with top UK producer Stephen Street to open a brand new, state-of-the-art programming and writing room, The Bunker. This studio was custom-built by Miloco Builds for Stephen in 2010, when he was looking for a great-sounding room with vocal booth to base himself and his equipment in on a long-term basis. He found just that in a converted garage space at Miloco’s HQ in London SE1. This new studio launch is the latest in a series of partnerships Miloco have made with some of the industry’s leading producers.
The Bunker is now available for producers, engineers and artists to book when Stephen is away, and is proving to be a very popular choice for programming, writing, editing, mixing-in-the-box, vocal recording and overdubbing sessions. The studio is very well equipped and sounds excellent. Inside the room you’ll find an Audient Zen console, Protools HD3, Focal Twin and KRK monitors, plus lots of the outboard, backline and microphones Stephen has used to produce his legendary catalogue over the past 20 years.
The finishing touches to the studio include a leather sofa and modern décor and lighting. Also on site is the main Miloco office, three other commercial studios and a selection of other private programming suites, so there’s always plenty going on around the place. Clients can also make use of kitchen and lounge facilities, a pool table, Sky TV, PS3, table football and a large collection of vinyl records.

There are plenty of other new, rich features we’ve integrated into the website. Multi-lingual support is one of them, and currently features on all of the pages under the ‘Studios’ sub-header. With the Miloco group expanding overseas as well as within the UK, we have made the website international too by introducing a page translator. Visitors to the site can now read all studio web pages in English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Italian.
Other features have grown out of the general redevelopment of the website’s design. The cleaner look and feel to the site has taken into account mobile browsing, with now far more compatibility with Mac iOS devices such as iPad and iPhone. You can now check out all the information you need from Miloco’s online world wherever you are!
We have also redesigned some of the older features, such as our content-rich homepage where you can find all the latest Miloco headlines, recent clients and releases, plus featured studios and other services we provide. Our image galleries have been redesigned, as have our very nifty interactive studio floorplans with images. We’ve cleaned up and modernised our fonts and formatting, and have replaced many of the images with larger and better-looking photos, and that’s just to name a few of countless updates that have together improved the look and usability of the site.

One of the very best features of our new website is an innovative studio search tool, which has been designed to make the process of finding the perfect studio for your project as easy as possible. With a constantly expanding number of recording studio facilities being operated by Miloco, we thought it had become vital to introduce a method for finding and filtering the studios best suited to each individual client’s needs. And so we have!
There are four main components to this custom-built search engine: Studio Type, Location, Studio Rate and Equipment Search. View the image above to see how they are laid out. The first three search components define the general requirements you need. The fourth component, Equipment Search , is a tool that runs off a vast database of equipment we have built over time that includes each item of gear available at all of Miloco’s studios. With over 20 rooms of all shapes, sizes and specs, we’d like to think that even some of the rarest gear can be found at Miloco somewhere, and the Equipment Search tool has the ability to pinpoint the exact gear you require by filtering the studios where the equipment can be found. We are of the humble opinion that this feature is rather good, so say goodbye to the days of spending hours wading through never ending lists of gear in a vain search for that elusive, vintage microphone!
