The Motor Museum has just purchased a stunning Telefunken U-48 Valve microphone. At a price of £ 6,600 this microphone does not come cheap but it is worth every penny and the sound is stunning. It has been released as a variation of the ubiquitous U-47 offering figure 8 capability. This microphone was one of George Martin’s favourite microphones when recording the Beatles.
