We’ve had on-going success at Gotham Producers this year, including Mike Crossey‘s production of The Gaslight Anthem and mixing for Ben Howard, Snow Patrol, Hozier, and Sunset Sons; Charlie Hugall‘s production of Port Isla, Kimberly Anne, and Kwabs; Matt Wiggins’ mixing for Lorde, U2, Professor Green, Naughty Boy, and Foster the People; Pete Hofmann co-producing and mixing Erasure’s album ‘The Violet Flame’ and Willow’s ‘Plastic Heaven’; and Stephen Street’s production of Aline.
The latest additions to the Pieces of 8 Music roster include triple Grammy-winning producer, mixer, and co-writer Steve Dub and producer, mixer, and engineer Bryan Wilson.
Steve brings with him an unrivalled pedigree in electronic music, working extensively with The Chemical Brothers over the years and recently with acts such as Clean Bandit, Ali Love, Jagwar Ma, and Tinie Tempah. Bryan joins the fold on the back of a very successful year, which has included producing and mixing the chart-topping debut album ‘Trading Change’ for folk star Jeremy Loops.
As well as recently working with John Newman and Lianne La Havas on new material, Bryan’s credits include Arthur Beatrice, Frightened Rabbit, Maverick Sabre, and Disclosure. Steve and Bryan join our already accomplished roster that includes Grammy-winning producer, engineer, and mixer Matt Lawrence (Naughty Boy, Mumford & Sons, Adele), as well fast-rising studio talents Mark Allaway and Mo Hausler.
Al Groves and Ben Jackson are the newest producers, mixers, and engineers at Miloco Studios.
Al’s break happened in 2012 when he moved into The Motor Museum, an iconic studio. This is now Al’s base, and allows him to further develop his style and push the envelope of modern production, offering an equally capable production and mix studio.
In his eighth year of professional sound engineering, 2014 has seen Ben continue to refine his craft in many of Miloco’s studios, including working with Bloc Party‘s Kele on his solo album ‘Trick’.

Looking at our studio roster, we have seen more than one studio added a month this year from around the world. When Miloco Studios was founded in 1984 little did we realise we’d one day start representing that many studios in one year, let alone spread our wings across the Atlantic.
Miloco’s new US studios are The Bunker Studio in New York, Los Angeles’ Eldorado Recording Studios, and the exceptionally vintage Welcome to 1979 in Nashville, and you can read more about them here. During the year, we’ve also added a dream Morocco location for songwriters and musicians in The Agafay Studio.
Our selection of studios across mainland Europe has grown to include one of Germany’s most renowned recording studio complexes H.O.M.E. Studios and the beautiful Mushroom Studio and SAM Recording Studio in Italy, not to mention Sweden’s newest residential recording/writing facility Lake Malvik.
Closer to our London base you’ll discover lots more new, outstanding studios including exceptional acoustic space Attica Audio Recording in Ireland, Kentish countryside residential studio Blue Bell Hill, The Church Studios in London that needs no further introduction, the ‘modern day Brill Building’ Kensaltown Recording Studios in London, magical getaway Retreat Recording Studios based just outside Brighton, and the custom-built Sleeper Sounds in London.

We’ve built the essential Miloco releases of 2014 page, revealing an excellent year at the studios.
We think our must-hear list uncovers loads to celebrate, from Paolo Nutini’s third album Caustic Love that was made at three studios on the Miloco roster, through controversial free download Songs of Innocence by U2, to Ben Howard’s album I Forget Where We Were that was mixed by Gotham Producers’ Mike Crossey at Livingston Studio 1.

Piano sessions can now be carried out in both rooms at Miloco’s Livingston Studios.
New in Livingston Studio 1 is a 5ft 6ins Bösendorfer baby grand piano, which sounds wonderful.
Meanwhile, the Yamaha C5 baby grand that used to be in Studio 1 has now been set up in Livingston Studio 2.
